Howards End by E M Forster

Donated by Melissa, who says...

it influenced me in my formative years, reading it as an A Level student. I responded to the difficulties Margaret faces in “seeing life steadily and seeing it whole.” For me it’s a book about resisting self-deception in yourself and others, even if that makes life less dramatic, glamorous or comfortable. Not always easy. Howards End carries Forster’s visionary message – ‘only connect’ with each other; ‘personal relations’ are key, not money, speed and power.
