Professor Dornan has the gift of the natural storyteller, full of insight and gentle humor. He presents situations from his distinguished career in gynecology and obstetrics in historical context while relating them through the prism of today's culture, practices, and health systems. He does so with unwavering respect for his patients and colleagues, despite significant differences at times in backgrounds and outlooks. I only learned of this book (as well as A Thousand and One Books) via the powerful but oft-misused medium of Twitter. I offer An Everyday Miracle as a positive example the connections such social networks can create.
