It beautifully and brutally encapsulates the lifelong impact of childhood abuse. I've never read a fictional portrayal that is so true to the experience of some survivors. But it is also a hopeful book about art and success and the power of friendship. I wish everyone could read this and take with them a deeper understanding of the grief survivors of abuse live with.
