Book 0242

Watership Down by Richard Adams

Donated by Laura Sedgwick, who says...

This is my favourite book. I read it hundreds of times as a child, sometimes back-to-back. The copy I have is a very old battered copy my mum had as a child- it is sun faded and has pages falling out. As a child I didn't really like books about anthropomorphised animals, but Watership Down is just a fantastic story about the relationships between characters, the tension between man and animals, and a complex imagined world with it's own laws, hierarchies and mythology.
